IMG_3563I am a graduate of Nutrition and Medical Science and Art History, from University College London (UK), and a certified Yoga Shanti Hatha Yoga Instructor (500-RYT) trained in the Iyengar method by internationally acclaimed teachers, Colleen Saidman and Rodney Yee, co-founders of  Urban Zen Integrated Therapy.

Additionally, I am also trained in LifeForce Yoga Therapy, by Amy Weintraub, author of Yoga for Depression and director of  LifeForce Yoga® Healing Institute. LifeForce Yoga Therapy combines the healing modalities of Vedic hatha yoga and Ayurvedic yoga therapy including meditation and pranayama (breath control), to balance the nervous system, improve fatigue, depression and anxiety, and is highly effective for PTSD. I am also a Kriya Yoga practitioner in the lineage of Paramahansa Yogananda, initiated through the Self-Realization Fellowship in Los Angeles.

My Eastern European upbringing into my early teens, centered around whole foods, holistic and natural remedies, healing and comforting home-cooked meals. My extended travels, particularly to India, Japan, and Siberia, had a profound effect on my exposure to various indigenous healing foods, holistic modalities, and my ever-growing interest in Eastern philosophy, yoga, meditation, and integrative medicine.  You can say that everything on my path has led me to do and be who I am today.Before deciding to follow my true life’s mission as a Holistic Health Counselor and Wellness & Yoga Therapy Coach, I received a BA from Emerson College in Philosophy, and an MA in the History of Art and Nutrition & Medical Science from the University of London, UCL. I worked as a director of photography and special projects editor for top national publications, including Newsweek, Interview, The Village Voice, Elle, Gotham, LA Confidential and Hamptons magazines. I translated my love for writing, travel, food, social and environmental awareness into founding, an inspirational online ezine for women, expounding positive role models and promoting earth conscious products, wellness, social activism, and sustainable living. I also contributed as a freelance writer to various web and print publications, including writing for Edible (New York) publications.
